The Sanders era began when Bob and Erma Sanders arrived to lead our camp in the late 1960s, around the time the camp was named Coniston. Through their leadership over 20 years, the name Coniston became synonymous with excellence in camping. They nurtured traditions, culture, and a vision that became the core of the Coniston identity. When Erma Sanders passed away in 2015, alumni began fundraising to build a new space at camp to train future leaders in appreciation of her legacy of service both at camp and in many communities and organizations. On June 1st, we hope you join us to share the realization of that vision with a celebration of Erma in the new location, the Sanders Leadership Center.
If you live far from Camp Coniston, see About Camp > Area Lodging for information on staying in the area.
