Check In / Out

Check-in and check-out days are exciting days at camp. Here is some information that will help you know what to expect:

Check-in Days / Sunday, Noon - 2:00 pm

  • Check-in is between Noon and 2 PM on the initial Sunday of each session.

  • Check-in Basics:
    • Upon your arrival you will be greeted on the road and directed where to park your vehicle on the Athletic Field.

    • Cabin assignments are available and posted at Noon.

    • Families are asked to mark their camper’s name and cabin number on each item of luggage. Staff armed with masking tape and markers will be helping on the Athletic Field.

    • Arriving early will increase your wait time while our staff is still preparing for a smooth check in. Please do not arrive at the camp before noon.

  • To receive a cabin assignment, the following documentation must have been completed and received by the camp office by the indicated deadlines (May 1st):
    • Green Health History and Examination form with a copy of your health and prescription insurance card.
    • Newport Health Center Financial Responsibility Form
    • Yellow Activity form
    • Blue Letter to my Cabin Leader form
    • Pink Permission for Possession and Use of EpiPens & Asthma Inhaler (if needed)
    • Payment in full.

Anyone with missing health forms or office information will need to meet with staff in the Pavilion before they receive their cabin assignment.
  • There will be numbered cones, representing cabin numbers, placed on the perimeter of the A-Field/parking lot. One side for Boy’s Camp, and the other side for Girl’s Camp.

  • Please unload any suitcase, trunks or duffle bags at the appropriate numbered cones that correspond to your child’s cabin number. Unload the rest of your child’s light or fragile gear and carry it with you. Luggage dropped off at the cones will be delivered to the proper cabin as soon as possible.

  • If your child has any medications, proceed to the Pavilion in Main Camp to see the Nursing staff and review the dosage information (both prescription and over-the-counter). Campers who have no medications can proceed directly to their assigned cabins to unpack. The cabin counselors will do the head lice check after everyone arrives.

  • At 2:30 pm the campers will need to be in their cabins to get ready for the waterfront boating testing (swimming and treading water). The boating testing begins at 3:00 pm  Campers proceed to the boating testing as a cabin group with their counselors.

  • Parents and visitors should plan to leave camp between 2:00 and 4:00 pm.

  • If you have any questions or concerns during check-in, the Girl’s and Boy’s Camp Directors, the Executive Director, and Summer Camp Director are available to speak to you and can be found in the Pavilion.

  • Campers do not have a store account. Please purchase sweatshirts, hats, etc. on check-in and check-out days. The camp store will be open during check-in and check-out hours.
  • Check-out Days / Saturday, 9:00 am - 11:00 am

  • Park your car on the Athletic Field, same as on check-in day.

  • Walk into Main Camp and go to your camper’s cabin and meet your camper.
Please don’t enter the Boy’s or Girl’s Camp areas until AFTER 9:00 am!

  • Pick up any medications from the nurses who will be stationed in front of the Dining Hall.
  • Pick up your registration form(s) for next summer at the table set up in area near the dining hall.

  • Check for Lost & Found items!
    • Check your camper’s cabin for any gear not delivered to the A-Field by truck.

    • Check all lost and found locations (main camp, bath houses, cabins). The camp will not send “lost and found” items to campers after session check-out. Please check all locations thoroughly. Due to the overwhelming amount of Lost & Found, the camp cannot sort through and return belongings left behind. All Lost & Found is donated to charity at the end of each session..
