FROM THE DESK OF • RICHARD LEECH •
Dear Fellow Grandparents,
Our grandchildren love Camp Coniston. We hear about their summer experiences long after camp has gone and know that Coniston is a place that
prepares kids to become healthy adults.
This is the reason we are writing you. We need your help in raising money to maintain the unspoiled environment of our camp. Here is the story:
130 acres containing 22 house lots overlooking Lake Coniston are being sold. Coniston has arranged to purchase this land for $550,000 and, so far, half that amount has
been raised or pledged. When purchased, this land will be incorporated into the daily activity of the camp. There will be no development. And, what’s more, all of the land seen from the lake will belong to the
camp.
What can you do to help? Please make a donation to this campaign. A donation to the campaign will help the place your grandchild loves.
How much should you
give? We think a nice rule of thumb is $100 for each camper-year your children or grandchildren have spent at the camp. Our grandchildren talk about the number of summers they spend at camp and we can think of no
greater tribute for their experience. Of course $250 dollars per year, or more would more easily help us make our goal. Gifts to YMCA Camp Coniston are tax deductible.
Please send donations to the camp
at: YMCA Camp Coniston PO Box 185 Grantham, NH 03753 or click on the “Support Coniston” button at www.coniston.org and make a
donation on line.
Thank you on behalf of all grandchildren, present and future.
Sincerely, On behalf of the Grandparents Committee
