Coniston Alumni - how to get involved & stay connected!
There are a number of ways to keep up with goings-on at the camp and within the Alumni community. Here are a few specific suggestions:
Let the camp know who you are and how you can be contacted. The camp sends out various mailings during the year: the camp Annual & Calendar, registration materials,
fundraising appeals, and a very nice printed newsletter. Make sure the camp has your mailing address so they can make sure you get these mailings. Don’t worry, it’s not a huge amount of mail and your information is
safe in the woods of Croydon. You can contact the camp office and give them your address. Just use the form here, or send email to info@coniston.org, or send them a letter at the address shown here.
Check this web site’s homepage often! The web site’s homepage has areas on it that are updated directly by the camp staff all throughout the year, often on a daily basis. There is a “picture of the day” that rotates very frequently, often many times a day during the summer sessions. There is also an archive of 24 of the most recent of these pictures. Also, the camp posts a “notice” on the homepage to let everyone know what’s new at camp.
Visit the web site’s Discussion Forums! This site also has a full “threaded” discussion forum available to anyone who cares to register. While most of the traffic on the forums is generated by current campers, CITs, and staff, there is an area for Alumni News and Alumni Events. And,
if you ever long for a dash of Coniston in your day, reading through the posts of current campers will take you right back! Again, you do have to register to post, and we encourage you do sign-up. It’s another way
we can contact people for reunions, etc.
Visit the camp! If you are ever “in the neighborhood”, stop on by. It IS best to call the office first, (603) 863-1160, and let someone know you’re coming. The office is
staffed just about year-round. Check the homepage “notice” as it often will mention when the office is closed. Visit any time of year. There is a special Open House, usually one of the first few weekends in June,
when there will be summer staff on hand to give tours and answer questions. Can’t remember where the camp is? Check out the directions page.
Send your child (or someone else’s for that matter!) to Coniston! Nothing connects you back to Coniston like having a son or daughter attend the same camp you did. Chances
are, your child will be in a cabin with other alumni “brats”. Rates and registration materials can be found here.
Attend Family Camp! The camp started offering a Family Camp program sometime in the ‘90s and it has been growing ever since. Family Camp is held during the week after Session 4 every summer (late August). Family Camp runs Monday through Friday of that week, 5 days, 4 night. Families live in camper cabins and eat all meals together in the dining hall. There are lots of staffed camp activities, including water skiing, and there are evening programs or campfires every evening. A good number of families that attend are alumni-related. For more information about Family Camp, click here.
Attend a Reunion! There have been a number of camp reunions held over the years, but we (the alumni) have yet to solidify an annual event. Check the web site often,
however, and you’ll be able to learn about any “at-camp” reunions that might be being planned. Check the section below for the details
