YMCA Camp Coniston is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children after the academic day has ended, when parents are often still at work. The goal of our program is to provide a fun and safe environment for your children, and we run a recreation-based program that creates the needed link from the school day to a night at home. During their time with us each day the children are provided with a snack, given time to complete homework, and also enjoy free play both indoors and outdoors throughout the afternoon.
Our programs follow state and YMCA regulations, which include guidelines on physical space, enrollment capacity, and appropriate child development training and education of all site directors. While the state staff/child ratio requirement is 1:15, we aim for a 1:10 ratio at each afterschool site.
Schedule, Weather and Missed Days
Sites open on the first day of school in the fall and close on the last day of school in June.
All Afterschool sites begin right after the last bell of the day and close at 6:00pm.
Your child(ren) can attend the Afterschool Program from 1 to 5 days per week, and we do ask that you establish a regular schedule. We do not operate as a drop-in program.
If your work schedule changes we will do our best to accommodate your needs, provided there is availability.
School Vacation, Weather
The YMCA Camp Coniston Afterschool Program is closed when school is not in session (ie. vacation days, summer break) or is cancelled due to severe weather. Parents must make arrangements for their child in the event school is dismissed early due to bad weather. Snow days will be made up as your school schedule dictates.
The Afterschool program is held on scheduled early release days in all schools, and begins as soon as the last bell of the early release, and ends at 6:00 pm.

Cost
The program cost is as follows:
$12 per day for one child, $10 per day for each additional child.
Billing and Payment
You are only billed for those days your child attends, if your child is going to be absent please let us know 2 weeks in advance and you will be credited for those days. Absences not noted two weeks in advance will be charged.
